Trampolining club jumps for joy

"Athletes of all abilities need the right equipment so that
they can take up a sport" Adam Rigarlsford, Sport England
More Essex youngsters will be able to join in the trampolining
fun at Braintree Leisure Centre thanks to a Sport England Small
Grant of £10,000.
The Dimensions Club at the centre is using the
National Lottery funding to buy a new competition standard
trampoline, expand classes and help coaches gain more
qualifications. It means the club can welcome new members, meeting
growing demand for the sport.
The club is one of hundreds who’ve received
lottery awards of between £300 and £10,000 this year through Sport
England’s Small Grants programme.
Head Coach Clare Carse said, “This is a
massive achievement for us. An additional trampoline means that our
current trampolinists will benefit from using the same type of
trampoline they will use when at a competition and the children of
Braintree and Halstead will not have to wait so long to be able to
enjoy this increasingly popular sport. We are extremely grateful to
Sport England, not just for this funding but the fact that someone
believes in us and the project we are delivering.”
Adam Rigarlsford, Sport England’s Regional
Lead for The East, said, "Athletes of all abilities need the right
equipment so that they can take up a sport, participate and compete
to their full potential. Trampolinists at The Dimensions Club have
enjoyed sharing their input and ideas with their head coach for the
new structure of the sessions. This expansion will come about only
six months after the club became a registered gymnastics club.”
The club received support and advice from
Sport
England, Active
Essex,
Braintree District Council and their
British Gymnastics Club Development Coordinator.
