London 2012 rings

London 2012 has been a triumph. As the Prime Minister said: Britain delivered.

Team GB and ParalympicGB delivered record medal hauls and the world came to London and we gave them the greatest - and friendliest - show on earth.

The party may be over but there's no need to suffer from withdrawal symptoms. A number of organisations and programmes are here to help you turn inspiration into particiaption....

  • Interested in a specific sport?
    Find the relevant national governing body

    If you're interested in a particular Olympic or non-Olympic sport, then its national governing body will be able to help you find the right club or place to play. Many are offering taster sessions specifically designed to give people like you the chance to try the sport they've been watching.

    Contact your local county sports partnership

    County sports partnerships are responsible for making sport happen at a local level, county sports partnerships or CSPs, can put you in touch with local sports clubs and activities, whatever your age.

  • Make sport happen with Sport Makers
    Whether it’s planning the route, finding the pitch or encouraging people to take part – sport doesn’t just happen, it needs people to make it happen. Become one of 40,000 Sport Makers aged 16+ and you’ll not only get the skills, knowledge and opportunities you need to get more people playing sport, you’ll become part of the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sports legacy.

  • Brush up your management skills with Club Leaders

    Take the strain out of running a club by signing up to Club Leaders. It provides free training and support to those running our grassroots sports clubs. Modules on offer include finance, marketing, and facilities management.
