HRH Prince Harry urges schools to sign up
HRH Prince Harry has recorded a
video encouraging schools across Britain to
sign up and be part of the 2013 School Games.
As well as prompting schools to take part in
next year's event, the Prince reflects on the great success of
the 2012 School Games and urges young people to discover a sporting
habit that will last them a lifetime.
In May, over 1,600 young people from around
Britain competed across 12 different sports at the Sainsbury’s
2012 School Games final, with much of the competition taking
place in four Olympic venues including the Olympic
Stadium, the Velodrome and Aquatics Centre
The finalists were some of the first athletes
to use these venues and had achieved this honour after winning
through the three earlier rounds of the School Games
competition
Between 2010 - 2015 Sport England is
investing over £35.5 million into the School Games to
help more young people discover a love of sport.
