The inspirational performances have only just begun

ParalympicsGB added another two gold medals to their tally, with Hannah Cockroft and Mark Colbourne winning gold on their respective tracks.

Hannah won GB’s first athletics gold medal of the Games in the T34 100 metres setting a new Games record, while Mark broke the world record on his way to winning gold the C1 3km individual pursuit, adding to the silver medal he won in the 1km time trial in Velodrome on Thursday.

These two gold medal performances were the tip of an outstanding day for ParalympicsGB, which also saw them pick up eight silver medals, including five in the swimming and three bronze.

The strong performances by the British Team on day two of competition will help inspire even more people, both disabled and non-disabled, to give sport a go.

On the Parasport website, disabled people can find an activity that suits their skills and abilities with the help of the Parasport Self-Assessment Wizard, while on Athletics, Swimming and Cycling websites offers opportunities for both disabled and non-disabled people.

With nine days of competition still to come and some of the biggest stars of ParalympicsGB still to compete, the inspirational performances have only just begun.
