School Games development support funding
Sport England has today (29 March 2012) issued
two calls for expressions of interest to determine which
organisation(s) should:
- deliver development support to schools,
Governing Bodies of Sport and others to ensure their engagement
across levels one to three of the School Games between April 2013
and March 2015; and
- develop and stage the level 4 National Finals
of the School Games in 2013.
The development support will be funded via two
Lottery funding awards between Sport England and the successful
deliverer(s). The successful deliverer(s) will be identified
through a three stage process:
Stage 1
Organisations are invited to submit an
expression of interest by 4 pm on Thursday 3 May 2012.
Submission will be assessed and the top three organisations will be
invited to move to stage two.
Stage 2
The organisations moving to this stage will be
invited to present their proposals to an assessment panel.
The panel will make a further assessment against the published
criteria and then select the deliverer(s).
Stage 3
The deliverer(s) will be invited by Sport
England to work up and submit a solicited Lottery funding
application (one for levels 1-3 and one for level 4). The
applications will be determined by the Sport England Board at their
September meeting and will be subject to a strict assessment of
value for money and the demonstration of need.
