St George's Cross flag and the Houses of ParliamentCapturing the spirit of England on film - The ‘We are England’ competition has invited people to submit photographs that best represent England.
Your competition entry should be sent by 5pm on 9 April.

Commonwealth Games England, one of Sport England’s national partners, has launched a photography competition aimed at finding photographs that best represent England. The 'We Are England' competition will celebrate everything English ahead of the Commonwealth Games later this year, with images ranging from historic landmarks, to traditional games in the park and sporting events.

The competition will support the launch of the England team’s all-new ‘We are England’ brand, which will be showcased at the Games in October. It consists of three categories:

  • Professional photographers
  • Amateur photographers aged 16 and under
  • Amateur photographers for 17 and over.

Your entry should be sent by email to weareengland@threepipe.co.uk (one image per email) by 5pm 9 April.

So what does England mean to you? Whether it’s a local cricket match, a Premier League fixture or the sights of London, if you’re a keen photographer with an eye for all things English, here’s your opportunity to have your work displayed in London’s SW1 Gallery.

The winners will join a range of Commonwealth England athletes at a champagne breakfast to launch the exhibition on 21 April. Winning images will be displayed until 25 April and entrance to the exhibition will be free of charge.

You can read a guide to entering the ‘We Are England’ photography competition, including full terms and conditions, on Commonwealth Games England’s website
