Pavilions and Clubhouses designs and costs (NEW August 2012)

Over the past couple of months the Sport England team has been reviewing in detail the typical traditional construction specifications, layouts and costs of various size changing room and pavilions/clubhouses with clubrooms. This information takes the key information within the Pavilions and Clubhouses DGN and turns it into typical facility plans, elevations, sections and costs current at summer 2012.

This resulting information is available as a variety of standalone costs and designs as below.

Pavilions & Clubhouses case studies

The following case studies have been produced to capture evidence of schemes including artificial surfaces for sport that are considered by SE as good quality facilities.

New single storey pavilion – including accessible facilities, boat store, multi-function
           space, wet lecture room, changing and shower/toilets.

pdfGreenford - London Marathon Playing Field Greenford (comp 2012)

Refurbishment of an existing pavilion. The modernisation work brought the building in line with current requirements, including Sport England design guidance, Building Regulations and child protection requirements.  It included the creation of ten changing rooms with accompanying en-suite showers, two separate officials changing rooms, new toilet facilities, a vertical access lift, accessible changing facilities, kitchen and bar lounge area.

Within this section are the typical traditional construction costs to support the layouts above. They are presented as:

  • Lump sum project costs summary for each facility type (exclusive of VAT, Fees, Abnormals etc);
  • Elemental Cost Summary for each facility type; and
  • Single team change detailed facility elemental cost backup including measurement.
