Using Active People Diagnostic and Sport Market Segments
In September 2009 Sport England commissioned
Sheffield Hallam University to develop training for our partners on
Active People Diagnostic and Sport Market Segments tools. The
training programme was designed as part of Sport England’s duty to
co-operate. In England, 82 local authorities prioritised NI 8
(adult participation in sport and active recreation) in their Local
Area Agreement and we are committed to exploring ways to help
authorities achieve improvement in sport.
In partnership with Sheffield Hallam
University, we developed a bespoke training and resource package
and delivered 23 data training sessions across the country. The
training was primarily focused on supporting NI 8 Lead Officers and
corporate performance specialists in the 82 local authorities
that prioritised NI 8 in their Local Area Agreements; our
core audience also included County Sport Partnerships.
To ensure all partners can benefit from the
work with Sheffield Hallam University, the material from the training sessions is now
available. You can either download PDF’s of the individual training
modules or, alternatively, follow the web
tutorial videos.
To access the Active
People Diagnostic and start to use local data you first need to
register – this is free, easy and quick.
Sport Market
Segments have been developed to help understand our attitudes
to sport and what motivates us to take part in sport or choose not
to.
