How do I measure the outcomes?
Being prepared
It is important to be able to show the investment is
meeting the desired outcomes which lead to the long term
sustainability of the service and continued support.
Has the investment led to:
- Increasing participation in sport?
- Improved community and user satisfaction?
- An impact on the council’s priorities?
- A difference to peoples lives?
To help achieve this it is important to:
- Understand the profile of, and main drivers for, participation
in your area
- Use available data to inform your interventions and programmes
of activity
- Ensure there is a joined up approach across key stakeholders to
the delivery of sporting outcomes and is supported at a strategic
level
- Support the voluntary and community sector, including community
sports clubs, and understand the role they play in achieving the
council’s outcomes
- Encourage working in partnership with NGBs and CSPs to increase
participation
- Maximise commercial opportunities to increase
participation
- Maximise the benefits of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympic
Games
