This is a summary of current funding streams and
miscellaneous finance support that may be useful to volunteering
groups.
While not all of these are applicable to all, they may be of
interest and offer an insight into some of the wider opportunities
that are potentially available for sports bodies.
Funding Central is a free website for charities, voluntary
organisations and social enterprises. It provides access to
thousands of funding and finance opportunities, plus a wealth of
tools and resources supporting organisations to develop sustainable
income strategies appropriate to their needs.

The Peter Cruddas Foundation aims to benefit disadvantaged and
disengaged young people in the UK. It gives priority to programmes
which help disadvantaged young people to pursue their education and
develop their potential, whether through sport or recreation,
voluntary programmes or otherwise.

Fit4Funding is offering an innovative online course for funding
advisers. This course is the online translation of fit4funding's
face to face OCN accredited course for giving funding advice. It is
aimed at individuals whose work involves advising community and
voluntary groups on funding and funding related issues. The courses
runs over an 8 week period and requires learners to commit to
approx 4 hours participation per week. The course start date is
13th September 2010.

Princes Trust Community Cash Awards are grants to help 14-25
year olds set up and run community projects.

Cash 4 Clubs
Cash 4 Clubs offers sports clubs in the UK the chance to win
grants ranging from £250 to £1000. It is a simple scheme aimed at
giving community clubs a helping hand and providing the opportunity
to raise the money they need to invest in their club. Funded by
Betfair and in partnership with SportsAid.

Biffaward is a multi-million pound fund which awards grants to
community and environmental projects across the UK. The fund’s
money comes from landfill tax credits donated by Biffa Waste
Services and is managed by the Royal Society of Wildlife
Trusts (RSWT) on Biffa’s behalf. Your club is required to be
located within a certain distance from a landfill site.

As you will be aware, before seeking funding,
organisations or clubs should always establish a strategic
direction with a business plan or at least an action plan to
establish where their priorities lie, identifying the resources
needed to achieved their vision and then seek funding where
appropriate.
